LOW LOCATION LIGHTING SYSTEM

Low Location Lighting System The Low location Lighting (LLL) System has been developed in compliance with IMO Resolution A18/752 dated 23.11.93.

The LLL System using LED's or electroluminescent strips was chosen for this application because of it's robustness and reliability. Arrows and directional indicators are also produced from the same product.

During the design of the various LLL components, special attention was paid to the system's power source, in case of a fault arising from collision, fire damage and water damage. The circuits used ensure that if a single strip, LED or other component fails, signalling system efficiency is not compromised.

The Leda-Lite LLL System has been recognised by the Italian Classification Society (RINA).

The LED's are mounted on a rugged printed circuit board contained in a polycarbonate tube (9mm x 20mm) which is solid and easy to handle while providing mechanical protection to grade IP57.

Standard length is one or two metres. Shorter lengths can be used, however, to overcome installation problems where necessary. In the event of a fault only 50% of the lighting is affected in the particular area concerned.

Each strip contains 5 serially linked LED's placed at intervals of 200mm, with 2 resistances, R1 and R2. These resistances maintain the LED current at a value no lower than 35mA.

POWER SUPPLY
The various parts of the system are supplied locally using special power supply units. Every power supply has two outlets, each of which can supply up to 50 metres of LED strip. The use of two power supply unit connected to the two ends of each LED strip (max length 100 metres) ensures that the overall operation of the system would not be affected, even if a single strip is damaged.
